Take 2 – QVC’s Testube Beauty – Product Review

As you know from my previous post about  QVC‘s  and their New Beauty Testube as posted HERE, I love my quarterly testubes.

This time my New Beauty Testube consisted of Supersmile professional whitening toothpaste, Algenist anti-aging moisturizer, Perricone firming neck cream, Philosophy’s snow angel 3-in1 shower gel, Mally’s evercolor starlight eyeliner in black, Laura Geller’s baked eyeshadow in Sugar Sky/Blueberry, Josie Maran’s 100% pure argan oil, and WEN’s winter vanilla mint.

I was not a huge fan of the Supersmile toothpaste. I didn’t really like the flavor or feel like my teeth were getting cleaned. I also have very sensitive teeth and gums so that could be my problem. The Algenist, Perricone and Josie Maran products were all nice and went on well. But my faves and standouts are the following.

I loved the Philosophy snow angel body wash, but I’ve been a huge Philosophy fan for years so maybe I’m just biased. Who knows? Their 3-in-1’s always lather so well and rinse well too. Plus they all smell divine. I especially love their Strawberry Milkshake.

This was my first opportunity to try a Mally product and I was pleasantly surprised. Her eyeliner went on super smooth and easy. Sometimes with an eyeliner pencil I find them stiff and hard to work with. Her pencil was very easy to use and pliable. Love it!

I also really liked the Laura Geller eyeshadow. The colors look great seperate but I prefer to use the lighter blue as a base and highlighter and the darker blue on my lids to give more of a smokey eye look. The shadow stays on very well but I love the color options it comes in the most.

Ok so my fave fave fave product from this whole testube has to be hands down the WEN winter vanilla mint conditioner. First of all it smells like what I think heaven smells like. A little goes a long way and rinses out very nicely and doesn’t make you feel sticky or weighed down. It’s very light. But the smell is what gets me. I want to eat it! I was surprised but happy to find out that WEN is owned by Chaz Dean the fab hair stylist. Some of you may recall the name as he is a regular on “Flipping Out” on Bravo. I’m a fan of the show so when I saw this I was even more excited.

Stay tuned for my next edition. As soon as I receive my next testube I will let you know. In the meantime should you purchase any of these products let me know what you think.

While looking at the QVC site to get these links I noticed many of the products I mentioned are either having a great sale or are giving away a bonus with each purchase. So make sure to check out these great products on the QVC site for more deets.

SHOP-TUILE – Product Review

Recently I participated in a SHOP-TUILE contest and was ecstatic when I won because they have the chicest jewelry. I had never ordered from them before but have been admiring their products for a while. I was able to purchase $100 worth of product and couldn’t wait to dive into their site.

The SHOP-TUILE website is very user friendly and the shopping and checkout process was a breeze. I shopped to my hearts content.

I’m a ring girl and the chunkier the better. I fell in love with the Spica ring right away and put that in my cart. I love that I can dress it up or down with either an LBD or jeans. It is absolutely gorgeous.

I also purchased the Asiatic Lily ring which reminds me of jewelry I often see while vacationing in Aruba.

Their products range in price from inexpensive to fairly pricey.

Kenton Magazine & Lacoste – Product Review

I’ve been following Kenton magazine on Twitter for a while now. I was thrilled when I won the Eau de Lacoste contest. My hubby had actually read an article recently about the new Lacoste fragrances and was anxious to try them out. So when I won this contest you can imagine his excitement.

I can tell you first hand that both of these new fragrances are amazing. Both of them smell clean, fresh and just plain yummy.

The Lacoste Relaxed Green scent is super clean and fresh. Green is the color representing nature and therefore a natural fresh
scent. The green edition opens with notes combining bergamot, verbena and grapefruit balanced by a relaxing heart consisting of blue avender, thyme, violet leaf and fig.

The hubby says “The green seems slightly more masculine and woodsy.”

The Lacoste Powerful Blue also denotes freshness but with an earthy flair. The Blue edition top notes combine a dose of citrusy grapefruit with cool notes of peppermint. At the heart there is a smooth and aromatic accord of sage which blends with an earthy base of patchouli, amber wood and oak moss to create a powerful, and masculine scent.

The hubby says “It’s fresh. I like the classic packaging. The 30ml is great for travel.”

The packaging for the new scents are timeless and classic typical for Lacoste. They also don’t wear off like many fragrances. The scent stays on you for hours. Both my hubby and I loved both of the scents although I do prefer the Green a little more over the Blue. I feel it has more of a clean scent which I prefer.

QVC’s New Beauty Testube – Product Review

My mom often has difficulty purchasing me gifts for my birthday and Christmas. She may also be QVC’s biggest fan. It’s a good thing
that QVC came out with the New Beauty Testube.

What is it? It’s a way to sample a bunch of amazing beauty products all year long. It’s like my birthday every couple of months when I get
my quarterly package from New Beauty filled with great products.

I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised with my first package which consisted of Smashbox Lip Enhancer, Oscar Blandi Sans H20 Shampoo, Fresh Just-Bitten Pout lip treatment,  Lea Journo hydra-riche hydrating conditioner, Perricone MD face finishing moisturizer, Philosophy Microdelivery Wash, LAVANILLA body butter and the IT Consmetics Brow Power eyebrow pencil.

My personal faves from this testube were the Lea Journo conditioner and the Philosophy face wash. The Lea Journo conditioner made my hair silky smooth and smelled absolutely incredible. The Philosophy face wash made my skin feel exfoliated and fresh. I’ve always wanted to try Philosophy products for my face but never had. The microdelivery exfoliating wash is addicting. This is your warning. I loved it!

Thank you QVC for coming up with a great way to test a variety of products. It’s the perfect gift!

Dear Dearfoams – Product Review

Every week Dearfoams gives away a pair of their amazing slippers to their fans on Facebook! How great is that?

I was thrilled when I was the lucky winner of the Microsuede Bootie with fur in Chestnut (pictured below).

Lord knows I love my boots in the fall/winter. I practically live in them. My only problem is I don’t like to wear them in the house. Now I have a reason to wear super cute booties around the house because Dearfoams makes these super cute slippers that look just like my favorite fall boots.

They are super comfy and the faux fur on the top can be worn up or down. The flannel lining and insole, along with the foam cushioning provide extra comfort all day long. They also have a rubber outsole with skid and abrasion resistance which makes them perfect for running all over the house and not slipping. Plus they are washable! Woo Hoo!
