Saving Time with the LG TwinWash – Review

I have a lot of hand wash items. Ranging from delicates to everyones favorite buttery soft legging company. You know who you are. 😉 I’ve known about the LG TwinWash for a while now and have been absolutely obsessed with it. I love that you can wash a regular load of laundry while a smaller load is going at the same time. Yes I said AT THE SAME TIME.

I have a TON of items that always need to be handwashed. And they multiply fast. Many of my handwash items I put in my regular washing machine on the handwash cycle. And then hang dry after. But this means more laundry time because I’m not doing other loads of regular clothes.

With LG’s TwinWash system you get the best of both worlds. For small loads that can’t wait (The sweatpants after hot yoga, the red shirt in a pile of whites, the dirty school uniform on a Sunday night) there is the LG SideKick pedestal washer. You can even use it simultaneously while you do a bigger load up top on your LG Front load washer.

Not only do these washers have mega capacity to tackle any size load, they are energy efficient while giving you the best cleaning performance. No wonder more households have chosen LG laundry over any other brand!

What is your favorite feature of the LG TwinWash? Comment Below.

Do You Pay Attention To Details? The Folks At Angel’s Envy Bourbon Whiskey Do!

So my wife Katie tells me about an opportunity to sample some bourbon. I asked which bourbon, and she informed me it was Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. I mean seriously, who doesn’t want to sample some free booze? And a bourbon that is getting a lot of attention and rave reviews. I immediately jumped at the chance. Now I’ve read some reviews for spirits, but mainly I’m a cigar guy, doing tastings and reviews (see www.dscigars.com for cigar reviews). But I’ve always wanted to try and review spirits and thought this would be a great opportunity.

Angels Envy is an artisan bourbon created by Lincoln Henderson, Master Distiller for Louisville Distilling Company, and has been doing this for almost 40 years. For Angel’s Envy, Henderson uses mineral-rich Kentucky lime stone water for distilling and it is aged in American white oak barrels for a minimum of four years. Henderson personally tastes every barrel to see if it is ready for aging. Some might feel he is a perfectionist since he tastes every barrel of bourbon himself. I say that’s just someone who is dedicated to his craft, and it shows. Henderson uses port wine barrels personally selected from Portugal for final aging.

Once we received the Angel’s Envy Bourbon, I couldn’t wait to try it. Immediately I noticed it’s beautiful amber color. Upon opening it, I poured myself a glass and began the tasting. It has a soft vanilla aroma, with hints of nuts and raisins. On my first sip, the first thing I noticed was how it didn’t bite, when you think of bourbon or whiskey, usually it’s got a bite to it, but this is very smooth. More sipping led to flavors of vanilla, toasted nuts, some maple syrup and a nice fruitiness to it. One thing I was impressed with was the finish. Again, with the older style bourbon, it starts off with a bite and ends with a fire in your stomach. But the finish with Angel’s Envy was smooth, just like the first sip. It created a nice little heat, but not too much where it’s bitter, it leaves you feeling content. All in all, this is a great bourbon, something I would recommend it, especially to my cigar friends who are always looking for a nice spirit to consume while smoking a good cigar. Try Angel’s Envy Bourbon Whiskey today, you will be happy that you did. And make sure to notice the angel’s wings burned into each cork, Lincoln Henderson pays attention to every detail, and so should you.

My name is Katie and I’m a beauty addict…

I’m a self admitted beauty junkie! My name is Katie and I’m a beauty addict. Which is why I so excited to win the Ageist contest and received a plethora of amazing gifts.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correction
I’ve been using this serum after washing my face. I use one drop of it and the one drop goes a long way and covers my entire face. After I apply this serum I follow it up with my regular moisturizer. It makes my skin feel super smooth and in a way I feel like it exfoliates my skin a bit. According to Caudalie the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is an alternative to laser. It penetrates deep to improve the appearance of dark spots and even out skin tone.

Anastasia Beverly Hills All Eye Want Palette

The colors in this palette are gorg beyond belief. Many of them have glitter in them which gives your eyes a beautiful glow. I like putting a little bit of the gold shadow in the corner of my eye to make my eyes pop even more. This color palette is perfect for me as I have greenish hazel eyes with lots of green, yellow and brown in them so the gold and brown in this set really makes my eyes pop.

Here’s a closeup of the colors.
Plus it’s on sale now at the Anastasia website click HERE for deets.
The Socializer Can You Keep a Secret Lip Exfoliator & Conditioning Balm

I’ve got to admit I wasn’t that impressed with this product. The caps on both ends were broken and it took me a while to figure out how it worked. The exfoliator side vibrates which I was a bit surprised by. It claims to only take 3 clips for the exfoliator balm to come out but I spent at least a minute clicking and clicking until it finally came out. I also wasn’t a big fan of the smell of the lip balm.
La Mer Collections Wrap watch

This super cute watch is stylish and functional. I love that it’s more like a piece of jewelry than a watch because it’s so trendy and fun. It looks like a leather wrap bracelet on my wrist. So cute!

Barely There totebag & Ribbed Tank

I received the Smooth A’Tude ribbed tank and love it. It’s meant for tummy and torso control and is considered more shapewear than loungewear I would say. It is very confortable and I love how it doesn’t ride or roll up on you and stays in one place. Often times I find that shapewear doesn’t always stay where its supposed to but this tank totally does.

Express Faux Fur Hat

The faux fur hat from Express is soooooo cute as you can tell from the pic. Plus it looks super cute with my faux fur vest and matches it exactly. Love this and perfect for winter!

 Molton Brown Golden Solstice Candle
I completely adored this candle. Notice I said adored. I’ve burned the entire thing already. Filled with joyful aromas of bergamot, lemon, tangerine and blackcurrant brighten your senses, delivering a buoyant mood and a refreshed outlook. Very clean fragrance.

Let’s Talk About Tech Baby – Sony VAIO Product Review

Sony VAIO!!!!! Welcome to my life! Where have I been without you?

I was in desperate need of a technology makeover and seriously need a new computer. Enter @TheOnlineMom (Monica from The Online Mom) and the #TheOnlineMom Twitter party. I was so excited to win Monica’s giveaway that I literally freaked out, ran away from my computer and she thought she had lost me. Not true! I was freaking out to my hubby and father in law. Have you seen the Sony VAIO? I mean really! It’s beautiful.

Monica & I

Being that it was the week of Christmas and Monica and I aren’t too far away from each other we both drove about an hour and a half to meet up IRL (In Real Life) so I could get my brand new Sony VAIO. We met up on the Turnpike (INSERT JOKE HERE – What exit?) in Teaneck, NJ. It’s so much fun to meet one of your tweep’s in person. Which is why I love Blogher so much, but that’s another story.

My hubby loaded the Sony VAIO into the car, not without taking a few photos of course and then we headed on what surely was longer than an hour and a half home where we would hook up my brand new PC.

He took it out of the box and OMG it’s gorgeous! I mean gorgeous! I’ve never thought of a PC as being beautiful but my goodness. All we had to do was put the stand on my desk (you can also mount it to the wall), put the PC on top and plugged it in. Easiest setup ever!

I pressed on and the color! The color and screen is brilliant! Speaking of screen, did I mention that the Sony VAIO is a touch screen? Oh yeah! It’s a touch screen but it also comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse so whichever you prefer that’s what you can do.  And at 24” this screen is insane.

My hubby immediately downloaded Google Chrome since there is so much RAM on the Sony VAIO and now I could finally test it out. Surfing the web is super-duper fast. I’ve never been able to surf the web so quickly in my life. My smartphone is pretty fast but other technology not so much. Being in the social media industry, the ability for me to surf the web fast and feverishly is very important.

I also installed Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 so I would be able to use Excel and Word. Super easy to install as well.

Ok so I was super excited to play around with Windows Live and Moviemaker. In no time at all I became a filmmaker. No really I’m a filmmaker now. Take a look at my Gingerbread House Extravaganza video I wrote, produced, edited, etc. all by myself in literally a matter of minutes. Look out Spielberg! After I made my video it was very easy to upload it to YouTube using Windows Live. (Feel free to take a look at this previous post HERE.)

I also love that I can just drag & drop photos/files from my email into my desktop. It is so user friendly.

I had been holding out on listening to music, until today. I finally downloaded the Adele cd. This was the perfect opportunity to test out the sound of my VAIO. I did a double take because I thought Adele was in my office.  The Dolby surround sound makes it sound like I’m right there live at an Adele concert.

I’m telling you this computer has absolutely everything!
