Mani’s, Muppets & Moi with Bliss Spa

Tomorrow the long awaited Muppets movie “The Muppets” hits theatres and I was amongst the first to see it.

Thanks to Bliss Spa I attended a screening premiere last night in NY with my hubby as part of a Twitter contest @BlissSpa sponsored. I was thrilled because I’ve been a huge Muppets fan since I was a kid.

When I entered the theatre we were greeted with Sofia Mini champagne and brownies. AND mani’s! Yes you heard me right Bliss Spa brought in their talented manicurists to give all the guests mani’s with the new Muppet’s collection by OPI. I opted for Pepe’s Purple Passion. I love the deep dark purple with little flecks of glitter. It’s perfect for the holidays! All the colors from the new collection were gorg it was hard to choose just one.

The film itself was better than I could have ever imagined. I loved the weekend’s growing up as I would sit with my hair in curlers, eating popcorn while watching The Muppet’s on TV. The guests, the banter between Kermit & Miss. Piggy, the music, I loved it. This film reminded me so much of why I loved them to begin with.

Since kids nowadays aren’t as familiar with The Muppet’s as us thirty- something’s I thought it was a great introduction to The Muppets for kids these days. It introduces the characters in a newer way. The film also recaps on things we recall from watching it on TV and also adds lots of pop culture references and includes a plethora of surprise celebrity guests. The Muppet’s are back! And better than ever in this new film. My hubby and I loved the movie!

Swag

Bliss Spa also provided us with a swag bag filled with their famous Lemon & Sage Body Butter, Dale and Thomas Kettle Corn, Glaceau SmartWater and a recipe for Lemon & Sage popcorn. Yum!

Start off the holiday weekend right and take a lil break and check out The Muppet’s tomorrow!

A special thanks to Bliss Spa for including moi in the night’s festivities.

Julie, Julia & Katie

I’m inspired!

Last night Nick and I went to see Julie & Julia and might I say what a movie. As you may know, my birthday just passed (August 14th) and Nick mentioned around that time that Julia Child and I share a birthday. Jokingly I said “that explains a lot”. But it really does. Sitting in the theatre with my popcorn and various candies of sorts I realized, my life really mimics that of both Julie & Julia in the film. Everything from the love of cooking to the relationship with my husband.

I walked away from the theatre thinking 2 things. 1 – I should wear pearls more often. They are so classy. And 2 – I should write a cook book. I can’t share everything with you, because then nothing would be a surprise, but I have lots of ideas already. I even emailed a few publishers today. So if you know anyone in the industry, let me know. Or if you have any recipes you’d like to share with me, please feel free to contact me.

I’m so excited about my new venture. Not only is it something I’m passionate about, but it will keep me occupied until I find full time employment. (Sidebar: I have a promising interview next week.)
