Let’s Talk About Tech Baby – Sony VAIO Product Review

Sony VAIO!!!!! Welcome to my life! Where have I been without you?

I was in desperate need of a technology makeover and seriously need a new computer. Enter @TheOnlineMom (Monica from The Online Mom) and the #TheOnlineMom Twitter party. I was so excited to win Monica’s giveaway that I literally freaked out, ran away from my computer and she thought she had lost me. Not true! I was freaking out to my hubby and father in law. Have you seen the Sony VAIO? I mean really! It’s beautiful.

Monica & I

Being that it was the week of Christmas and Monica and I aren’t too far away from each other we both drove about an hour and a half to meet up IRL (In Real Life) so I could get my brand new Sony VAIO. We met up on the Turnpike (INSERT JOKE HERE – What exit?) in Teaneck, NJ. It’s so much fun to meet one of your tweep’s in person. Which is why I love Blogher so much, but that’s another story.

My hubby loaded the Sony VAIO into the car, not without taking a few photos of course and then we headed on what surely was longer than an hour and a half home where we would hook up my brand new PC.

He took it out of the box and OMG it’s gorgeous! I mean gorgeous! I’ve never thought of a PC as being beautiful but my goodness. All we had to do was put the stand on my desk (you can also mount it to the wall), put the PC on top and plugged it in. Easiest setup ever!

I pressed on and the color! The color and screen is brilliant! Speaking of screen, did I mention that the Sony VAIO is a touch screen? Oh yeah! It’s a touch screen but it also comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse so whichever you prefer that’s what you can do.  And at 24” this screen is insane.

My hubby immediately downloaded Google Chrome since there is so much RAM on the Sony VAIO and now I could finally test it out. Surfing the web is super-duper fast. I’ve never been able to surf the web so quickly in my life. My smartphone is pretty fast but other technology not so much. Being in the social media industry, the ability for me to surf the web fast and feverishly is very important.

I also installed Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 so I would be able to use Excel and Word. Super easy to install as well.

Ok so I was super excited to play around with Windows Live and Moviemaker. In no time at all I became a filmmaker. No really I’m a filmmaker now. Take a look at my Gingerbread House Extravaganza video I wrote, produced, edited, etc. all by myself in literally a matter of minutes. Look out Spielberg! After I made my video it was very easy to upload it to YouTube using Windows Live. (Feel free to take a look at this previous post HERE.)

I also love that I can just drag & drop photos/files from my email into my desktop. It is so user friendly.

I had been holding out on listening to music, until today. I finally downloaded the Adele cd. This was the perfect opportunity to test out the sound of my VAIO. I did a double take because I thought Adele was in my office.  The Dolby surround sound makes it sound like I’m right there live at an Adele concert.

I’m telling you this computer has absolutely everything!
